Mario is a researcher and external doctoral candidate at the Chair of Smart Water Networks at TU Berlin. He holds a B. Sc. in Water Resources Management and completed a M. Sc. in Hydro Science and Engineering at TU Dresden as a scholar of the “Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes”.

When not in Berlin, Mario works for Dorsch International Consultants as Project Engineer in water supply projects in Kosovo and Jordan, where he aims to reduce non-revenue water and increase energy efficiency. He is a lecturer for “Water and Energy” at the University of Applied Sciences in Rottenburg am Neckar, where he also experiments with serious games in the water-energy-food nexus.

 

Research

Mario’s research interest is in the area of the water-energy nexus in all its different forms. His focus is on increasing energy efficiency and reducing non-revenue water in drinking water supply systems of developing countries. Besides, he is interested in the virtual water of electricity production and trade. With his shared work in development cooperation and research, Mario aims to contribute to reducing the research – implementation gap of digital possibilities in the water sector.
